Montepulciano by Gran Sasso of Abruzzo. A freshness and directness of blackberry licorice characters on the palate, plums, liqorice and chinotto resolve on a drying, vinous finish. Montepulciano is grown throughout most of Italy, where it is used to make fresh, early drinking red wines. The Gran Sasso winemaking team work very closely with growers, ensuring that the vines are treated to the right amount of pruning and care. It's fine, medium bodied structure, fruit filled acidity and clean uncomplicated tannins make Gran Sasso an ideal partner to food, grills, meatballs or roasted ham.
